Online Defamation Law: The New Era of "Twibel"
Overview
When a person or business is defamed on an online review site, a social media post, or elsewhere on the Internet, the frequent anonymity of the post (along with the worldwide and permanent reach of the Internet) poses major obstacles for the Plaintiff seeking to pursue an action for libel or slander.
This course examines the emerging case law and statutory law on the subject.
